Tyson Fury’s hopes of a unification bout with Anthony Joshua suffered a blow after the latter suffered a shock defeat to Oleksandr Usyk
Fury and Joshua were due to go toe-to-toe in Saudi Arabia this summer but those plans were halted after an American court ruled that Deontay Wilder could have his rematch with the Gypsy King.
Fury emphatically defeated Wilder after an 11th round knockout, in which the Gypsy King was knocked down himself twice in the fourth round.
He would however get back up and go on to dominate - landing a huge right in the 11th to keep Wilder down.
Joshua lost his belts against Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month, conceding them to the Ukrainian after the completion of 12 rounds in which Usyk dominated from start to finish, threatening the knockout late on.
The shock result means a potential Fury vs Joshua fight is delayed - here's everything we know so far.
When could the fight take place?
December had been earmarked as a likely date but that is now off the cards following Joshua's defeat to Usyk.
It is now thought the all-British bout would not take place until late 2022, with a rematch against Usyk on the cards for Joshua first.
What happened when they met before?
Fury and Joshua have faced-off in the past previously, with their meeting taking place behind-closed-doors in 2010 - two years before Joshua's Olympic triumph in London and three years before he turned professional.
In that meeting, it is alleged that Joshua 'boxed Fury's head off' and both fighters have spoken about the meeting in the past.
In 2018, Fury said: “We’ve had a spar before. He had a good couple of rounds then I started hitting him round the body. He was lifting his legs up in the corner, there were ten people in the gym who saw him do it.”
