Tyson Fury spends up to £20,000 on Rottweiler guard dog as boxer beefs up security

Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has splashed out an estimated £20,000 on a guard dog to protect his family and their home.

Fury, 33, is using some of the money he earned from his £25million payday for knocking out Dillian Whyte in April to protect his home. Fury recruited the services of Elite Protection Dogs, a London-based dealer which sells "exclusive dogs for exclusive people".

'The Gypsy King' has joined the likes of football stars Ashley Cole and Jack Grealish to add a guard dog to their family. Several sportsmen such as Cole, Reece James and Mark Cavendish have all had their homes broken into by thieves recently. It is unclear how much Fury spent on the guard dog, but the company lists a range of dogs which have been sold for at least £20,000.

The company advocate for Shepherd breeds as guard dogs, but also have Dobermans and Cane Corso breeds for sale. A description of the dogs backgrounds provided on the company's website reads: "All our puppies come from military and police backgrounds with generations of experience."

The dogs are trained from just three months old to protect homes and react to intruders. They are also taught to refuse food from strangers. "From the age of 12 weeks we start to train our dogs, seven days a week, with the best dog specialists and cynologists our company has to offer," the description continued.

"They get minimal correction in order to prevent negative psychological effects and to encourage their instincts. At the end of the day, they return to our loving families, employed to give them the balance of work and affection they need. This allows them to grow with exposure to a family lifestyle and put their training into use."

Fury and wife Paris moved into a new £1.7m home in Morecambe last year along with their three daughters and three sons. The heavyweight champion also recently flaunted his £300,000 Rolls Royce as he continues to enjoy retirement life. He shared an Instagram reel to his 5.7 million followers showing off the new Rolls-Royce Cullinan, with Rock Ross' song Hustlin' playing over the clip.

Fury has continued his normal boxing training despite vowing he will never step foot in the ring again, which has led some fans to question the legitimacy of his retirement. The Brit has stated he will only fight again for exhibition contests, teasing one with UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
