Tyson Fury looks like he is set to miss out on the chance to become owner of League Two club Morecambe, with property tycoon Sarbjot Johal set to beat the world heavyweight champion to a deal.
The Daily Mail report that the 20-year-old is in advanced talks to take over at the Lancashire club who are currently in the League One relegation zone. Johal made his money through property investment and is believed to have the capital to make the purchase of the club who are currently valued at £20 million.
The club are currently owned by Bond Investments Ltd and the deal is said to be subject to final approval from the EFL, with the league set to scrutinise Johal through their Owners' & Directors' Test.

The news will be a blow to Fury who had previously expressed a desire to own the club having supported the Shrimpers through a sponsorship deal as well as providing facilities to the club. In October, he expressed his desire to 'throw millions' at the club which is based in the Lancashire seaside town from which he trains out of.
Speaking to former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan on TalkSport in October, Fury questioned the outspoken former club chairman, asking : “Quick question, I’m thinking about buying Morecambe Football Club, they’re in League One at the moment. So I was thinking I invest X amount of millions in them.”
Jordan replied by poking fun about the financial reality of owning a club, saying: “By invest you mean throw it at them, invest is the wrong term.”
Fury remained serious about the claims, saying: “Yeah, basically throw it at them and keep them going up." He continued. “I’ve been offered to buy Morecambe Football Club.
“I own all the training facilities anyway and the training gym. So who knows? You might be looking at a football club owner.”
