Tyson Fury's trainer Ben Davison sends ominous warning to rivals

Tyson Fury's trainer Ben Davison has warned the British star’s heavyweight rivals he is only going to get better.

The ‘Gypsy King’ is preparing for his fourth fight since his comeback last year as he faces Tom Schwarz this weekend in Las Vegas.

It is just over six months since his stunning performance against WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder .

Fury, 30, picked himself off the canvas twice against the American and out-boxed him for large parts of the December clash in LA.

The Manchester-born Traveller was robbed of a deserved win by the judges who scored it a draw.

But Davison believes Fury is already looking better than he did against Wilder as he compared him to Floyd Mayweather Jnr.

The American ended his career undefeated from 50 fights and pulled off wins over Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Manny Pacquiao well into his 30s.

“Performance wise in the gym it is the best I’ve seen Tyson so far,” said Davison.

“But there are always elements you are looking to improve on.

“I’m always looking at how he can improve.

“You can always improve and develop your game - improve on your weaknesses and develop your strengths. That is what boxing is about.

“Mayweather when he beat Oscar De La Hoya (in 2007) he said he would retire as he had achieved everything he wanted to achieve but then he went on and just kept getting better and better.

“You can always keep achieving and keep improving.”

Fury is 50/1 on to beat Schwarz and avoid an upset like compatriot Anthony Joshua, who suffered a shock defeat by Andy Ruiz Jnr two weeks ago.

Davison insists Fury is not taking the unbeaten German lightly despite the odds being stacked in the Brit’s favour this week in the gambling mecca.

He said: “Tom Schwarz is a big guy, one punch can change everything and these things happen. Anything can happen.
“That is why we have prepared properly.

“Tyson is a dedicated fighter. He has prepared diligently."
