Tyson Fury's toughest opponent named ahead of possible rematch

Otto Wallin's promoter Dmitriy Salita believes his fighter caused more problems for Tyson Fury than any of his previous opponents.

Fury 's recent win over Deontay Wilder in their trilogy fight cemented his status as the standout heavyweight boxer on the planet and took his record to 31 wins and one draw - which came in the first bout with Wilder - from his 32 professional clashes.

In the first and third fights with Wilder, Fury found himself on the canvas on two occasions after feeling the force of the Bronze Bomber, although he was able to recover to avoid defeat on both occasions.

They were rare moments of jeopardy in what has been a stellar career Fury, with his physicality and boxing skill seeing him dominate the majority of opponents.

One other rare challenging fight for Fury was against Wallin, as the British fighter suffered a couple of cuts above his right eye. They came from an accidental clash of heads and a left hook from the Swedish southpaw.

While Fury was permitted to continue by medical staff and eventually secured a unanimous points decision win, Salita believes Wallin is the man that's come closest to dethroning the Gypsy King, per Sky Sports.

"Out all the great fighters that Tyson Fury beat the one fighter that gave him most trouble, caused most controversy with the cut, who landed more punches than Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder in their first fights combined is Otto Wallin.

"Otto had two impressive wins since that outing and a win over [Dillian] Whyte would make him the most eligible opponent for Fury and in my mind the second-best heavyweight in the world based on merit."

Wallin will face Whyte on October 30, with the winner potentially in line to face Fury early next year.

Whyte is currently the interim WBC title holder and would be the mandatory challenger if he could beat the Swede, with Fury the holder of the WBC and The Ring heavyweight belts.
