Tyson Fury's new trainer explains tactics for Deontay Wilder rematch

Tyson Fury's new trainer is confident the former world champion can knock out Deontay Wilder.

Fury was dropped twice in his first meeting with his American rival but still looked to have done enough to win on points.

But he was denied victory by the ringside judges who scored the fight a draw.

Since then Fury has changed his coaching team, replacing Ben Davison with SugarHill Steward, nephew of the late Emanuel.

And Steward has confirmed Fury's claim he will be looking to take the decision out of the judges hands on February 22.

"That was a risk that Tyson took in the first fight in not stepping on the gas and trying to win on points,” he told iFL TV.

"He doesn't want that again. I don’t want it. I wasn't raised that way. Emanuel [Steward] always taught me, 'Get the knockout'.

"That’s the only 100 per cent way you know you won the fight by taking it out of the hands of the judges.

"I thought Tyson did enough to win the fight, even though he was knocked down twice. I’m not mad at the decision because I was always taught, 'Don’t leave it in the hands of the judges'.

The only blemish on Wilder's record is his draw with Fury and Steward hailed the dominant champion.

"I've been around a lot of heavyweights that have been dominant throughout the years, and he’s been making his way and being dominant," he added.

"He’s been a champion for five years, and that’s a long time in any division, especially the heavyweight division. Wladimir Klitschko almost broke Joe Louis’ record for the longest reigning heavyweight champion.

"To do what Wilder has done for five years, it’s a big accomplishment. You have to put him up there with the great heavyweights. Wilder is knocking everybody out. I don’t know of any other heavyweight that has knocked anybody out like that."
