Tyson Fury's diet revealed as heavyweight shows off stunning 150lb weight loss

For months Tyson Fury lived a fast-food lover's dream.

Pizza, kebabs and chocolate formed the backbone of a diet that saw him balloon to 400lb (28 stone) as he sunk into a deep depression despite beating Wladimir Klitschko to win the world heavyweight title in 2015.

Nights out would see him drink 18 pints followed by vodka and whisky chasers - and a stop at the local takeaway.

A photo of the former champion in the ring with British boxing legend Ricky Hatton went viral.

Hatton was known for piling on the pounds inbetween fights but even he was no match for Fury.

But the latter is a trim 18 stone fighting machine - but how did he do it?

With the help of strength and conditioning coach Kristian Blacklock and nutritionist Greg Marriott, Fury began to slowly take the weight off in early 2018.

He was put on a ketogenic diet high in fat and low in carbohydrates which forces the body to burn fat.

Because he was training, Fury was still able to eat as many as 5,500 calories a day with his meals including foods like rye bread, avocado, eggs and lean bacon.

Even though he was following orders, Fury claims he was still able to enjoy his favourite foods.

"The keto diet done correct is OK, but I was doing it dirty," he has said. "I was having four double patties with cheese and mayonnaise. Full of fat and grease, it can't be good for your arteries.

"I was having tons of meat, fried up, with cheese, mayonnaise, bacon, eggs, sausage. My ideal diet basically. I was thinking this can't be a diet, I’m not going to lose weight on this, but I lost the weight. I lost it all."

Fury had lost the bulk of the weight by the time he fought Sefer Seferi in his first comeback fight in July last year.

He had shed another 20lb less than two months later when he outpointed Francesco Pianeta and was a similar weight when he drew with Deontay Wilder .

He is now lighter than at an point since his win over Klitschko.

"It's been done over a very long period of time, very slowly and steadily," said Blacklock. "Ben [Davison, Fury's trainer] started in October last year, I joined in November and then we started properly in January.

"It's been very slow and steady; constant progression rather than anything dramatic.

"It's just repetition, there is no magic formula. The weight came off quite early but there are different phases to every training camp.

"The very heavy weight training is done early, you go faster and sharper in the middle and then try to peak for fight night."
