Tyson Fury's defiant message after Braun Strowman attack sparks injury fears

Tyson Fury has insisted he was not left seriously hurt after being attacked by Braun Strowman while training at the WWE Performance Centre.

The Gypsy King was preparing for his first match, which is set to be in Saudi Arabia against the 6ft 8in Strowman, when the 'Monster Among Men' clambered into the ring and attacked out of the blue.

Fury had been going through some training drills when he was blindsided by Strowman and taken to the ground.

It is not the first time the two have come to blows, as they had to be restrained at the first showdown on Raw two weeks ago.

There was widespread panic from Fury's team when he was pictured holding his ankle in apparent pain following the incident, but he said: "I don't need no medicals, I'll be alright," before appearing to get to his feet relatively comfortably.

Afterwards Strowman declared: "You're in my world, now" and was ushered away while laughing by members of the coaching team.

Fury has been warned off participating in WWE by his promoter, trainer and father as they try to focus him on his potential rematch with Deontay Wilder .

The fight is set to take place on 22 February on the condition that Wilder beats Luis Ortiz on 23 November, but until then Fury appears to have his mind focused on wrestling.

His promoter Frank Warren was allegedly the most angry of all about the news, and Fury said: "He was mad. He said 'I think this is a really bad idea'. He said you could get injured and what happens if the cut re-opens or if you get injured shoulders.

"If we lived our lives on 'what if' we would never do anything. These are once in a lifetime opportunities."
