Tyson Fury's dad confronts Carl Frampton over Jake Paul fight

Tyson Fury's dad John has confronted Carl Frampton over his claim Jake Paul could beat John's son Tommy.

Paul and Fury were due to clash last December but the former Love Islander pulled out with a broken rib and chest infection.

Paul went on to knock out Tyron Woodley in their rematch and has shown little interest in rearranging the fight with Fury, brother of heavyweight world champion Tyson.

“To be honest, I don’t really know much about them,” Frampton told talkSPORT last November.

“I’ve seen Jake Paul, little highlights of him. I’ve seen Tommy Fury, I was actually working for BT for one of his fights as a pundit. I think that if you put a gun to my head, I think I fancy Jake Paul in that fight, if I’m being honest."

Three months later, Fury Sr accosted Frampton at the press conference for Tyson's clash with Dillian Whyte, reports the Daily Mirror.

"You think Jake Paul's a boxer?" he asked, to which Frampton replied, "I don't think he's a boxer."

Fury: "Then why do you think he can beat Tommy? Answer the question, because you disappointed me. I supported you and I looked up to you"

Frampton: "I'm just trying to be honest."

Fury: "Honest? Honest? Saying a YouTuber could beat a Fury? Are you p*****?"

Frampton: "I'm trying to be honest; I'm not p*****."

Fury finished by saying: "I don't want to talk to you. I'm turning my back on you, I don't want to talk to you. Get your facts right or get off the job."

Paul has amassed a record of 5-0 since turning professional in 2020.

He stopped fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib, former NBA star Nate Robinson and former MMA stand-out Ben Askren before being taken the distance by Woodley in their first fight.

Paul, who made his name on social media, struck up a rivalry with Fury which was due to be settled in Florida a week before Christmas.

But Fury missed out on a multi-million-pound pay-day when he was forced to withdraw.

Paul and Woodley served up five boring rounds before the younger man landed the knockout blow in the sixth round.

He is currently taking a break from the ring to promote stablemate Amanda Serrano's clash with Katie Taylor next month.

Fury is likely to feature on Tyson's undercard when he defends his world title against Whyte on April 23.
