Tyson Fury admits he understands Deontay Wilder blaming his costume for his world title defeat.
Wilder was dropped in the third and fifth rounds by Fury before his corner threw in the towel to end his reign as heavyweight champion.
He later claimed his 40lb ring walk outfit, which he wore for Black History Month, weakened his legs and left him exposed to Fury's newly-adopted aggressive style.
Wilder said: "He didn’t hurt me at all, but the simple fact is that my uniform was way too heavy for me.
"I didn’t have no legs from the beginning of the fight. In the third round, my legs were just shot all the way through.
"But I’m a warrior and people know that I’m a warrior. It could easily be told that I didn’t have legs or anything.
"A lot of people were telling me, ‘It looked like something was wrong with you.’ Something was, but when you’re in the ring, you have to bluff a lot of things."
But footage later emerged of an interview in which Wilder revealed he wore an even heavier suit during training.
And Fury believes Wilder was searching for an excuse having been beaten by the better man.
"I can understand where he's coming from, in every fighter's mind there has to be a reason why he lost," he said on This Morning.
"It can't be because they they weren't good enough on the night and lost to a better guy.
"It has to be because the camp wasn't right or they were injured."
Fury and Wilder will clash for a third time in July after Wilder triggered the rematch clause in his contract.
They fought to a controversial draw in 2018 before Fury's decisive and dominant victory in Las Vegas.
And the new champion added: "I beat him the first time and I beat him the second time and I will surely beat him the third time.
"He's a very worthy opponent. He's a very dangerous opponent and he has the eraser knockout.
"You're only one mistake away from disaster, you have to be switched on for all 12 rounds."
