Tyson Fury reacts as best friend Isaac Lowe misses out on world title shot

Tyson Fury has issued a message of support to Isaac Lowe following his defeat against Mexican fighter Luis Alberto Lopez.

The Lancashire fighter was knocked down three times in his bout, before being counted out in the seventh round having been floored by a body shot.

It marks Lowe's first career defeat and means he missed out on the chance to establish himself as mandatory challenger for the IBF featherweight belt, with that honour instead going to his opponent.

Fury was ringside for the fight, in which Lowe was knocked down just seconds into the bout, and took to social media to post a message following the event.

"I just got off the phone with Isaac Lowe, everything's okay with him. He's positive, he's happy, he's with his wife and his baby," he said in a

"He's going to go home, regroup and he's going to be back in the gym for more action, don't worry about that.

"Great fight Isaac, you did really well, very proud of you. All the best."

27-year-old Lowe had previously gone undefeated in the 24 bouts in his professional career, securing 21 wins and drawing on three occasions.

He is childhood friends with Tyson Fury, with the pair having grown up in the same area and regularly supporting each other during their careers.

"I've known Tyson since I was eight or nine years old. I used to run around terrorising him when we were little and we've always had an incredibly close bond," he told GiveMeSport earlier this year.
