Tyson Fury promoter reveals stance on Anthony Joshua fight after Oleksandr Usyk victory

Tyson Fury's promoter Frank Warren has left the door open to a bout against Anthony Joshua despite the loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua conceded his heavyweight titles in an emphatic defeat to the Ukrainian last month, putting the hopes of a unification bout against Fury in doubt.

The London 2012 Olympic gold medallist is now set for a rematch against Usyk, where a win would put a unification bout back on track, albeit with a significant delay.

Defeat, however, would bring an end to those dreams and could potentially draw the curtain on Joshua's period of success in the heavyweight division.

However, regardless or whether Joshua has a title to defend or not, Warren believes that there is still enough clamour to get the two Brits in the ring against one another.

"If Tyson wins the fight we'll sit down. There's a few options there. Usyk would be a massive fight. The Joshua fight is still a massive fight," he told the BBC.

"I do believe the public buys into that fight even if AJ isn't champion. If he did fight Tyson he would have a lot to prove and I do think the public would buy into it.

'There's no (Americans) out there for him to fight. I think he'll be back here which will be a great homecoming."

With Joshua lined-up for a rematch against Usyk, Fury will need another opponent before any future date with AJ and Dillian Whyte is a likely opponent.

The 33-year-old is established as the WBC mandatory challenger and the boxing governing body could order a fight to take place.
