Tyson Fury opens up on baby Athena's intensive care fight after "tough few months"

Tyson Fury has given a positive update on his baby daughter, who he has revealed is back to full health after a battle for the family.

Fury's baby daughter was forced in to an intensive care unit after her birth, so the 'Gypsy King' had to delay his training camp to be with his family during her battle.

The 33-year-old faces a tough test against heavyweight foe Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas, as he looks to complete the trilogy with another victory.

And Fury has now revealed that his baby daughter is back to "100% health" ahead of his preparations for the fight.

“She is alright, we have had a tough time over the last month or so, and it’s been hard for the family,” Fury told IFL TV. “But she is over it now and back to being one hundred percent good now.

“I had a lot going on with the baby and the pregnancy, so I needed to be here in Morecambe because Paris couldn’t cope on her own.

“I fly to America in two weeks, which gives me three weeks over there and it will all be okay.

Fury has also had to deal with a coronavirus disruption after the initial bout was delayed from July after his camp was subject to an outbreak which later led to him testing positive for Covid-19.

And the 'Gypsy King' is determined to "knock out" his opponent in October, and show exactly why he believes he is the "hardest puncher in the world".

"He was the biggest puncher in history, but I knocked him out," Fury declared to BT Sport. "I'm the biggest and toughest puncher, he's only a threat in somebody's nightmares but not to me.

"They've always got a puncher's chance but so has every heavyweight out there - when I say I'm going to annihilate him, what did I say last time?

"I said I was going to drop him, knock him out, smash him and I did, this time, I'm going to absolutely obliterate him.

"It ain't going to seven rounds this time, I'm going to get him out of there nice and quick so Frank [Warren] and I can go on the drink afterwards."

His opponent Wilder has made an allegation that Fury is currently "struggling" during sparring sessions ahead of the pair's third meeting, while fans labelled the 'Bronze Bomber's' training video underwater "embarrassing".

But the British heavyweight remains confident that he can get the job done, and has also vowed to "annihilate" domestic rival Anthony Joshua if the pair eventually meet in an undisputed clash.

A fight deal was previously agreed for the clash to take place in Saudi Arabia, but Fury has revealed that he was "never optimistic" of the clash being made, despite the contracts being signed.

And Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has criticised the lineal heavyweight champion questioning his lack of title defences, and requesting for Fury to be stripped of his belts if the clash with Wilder was to be delayed again.
