Tyson Fury offered plastic surgery after suffering horror cut against Otto Wallin

Tyson Fury has a plastic surgeon on standby after returning from Las Vegas with a huge scar after he was cut during his win over Otto Wallin.

Fury suffered the injury during the third round and later required 47 stitches, but he clung on to earn a points victory in Las Vegas.

He returned to Manchester on Monday with wife Paris and has the option of being seen by a specialist in London as he bids to be fit to rematch Deontay Wilder on February 22.

Fury's promoter Frank Warren said: “I've got a Harley Street specialist on stand by to examine Tyson.

“Should he need a surgical incision to make sure he heals properly then the sooner it’s done the better.”

The ideal scenario is to wait for the stitches to be removed in two weeks as planned and hope the cuts have healed.

Fury, 31, would then need to give the wounds a further eight weeks before he could even consider taking punches on the eye again.

Warren added: “Five months might seem a long time but the cut in the eyebrow is so serious that he won’t be allowed to do any exercise whatsoever for at least two months.

“If all goes well that would just give him time for his 12-week training camp.

“We don’t want to push back the date unless we have to but the most important thing is that he is perfectly healed and fully prepared for that fight.

“Once his treatment has been decided he needs as much rest as can get at home with his family.

“He has to focus on the benefits of taking it really easy.

“Fortunately there are huge incentives for him to be right on the money for the Wilder fight.”
