Tyson Fury insists gruelling training camp in the desert will pay off vs Deontay Wilder

Tyson Fury claims he is putting himself through hell in camp - while Deontay Wilder is in “daddy mode” at home.

Fury has shut himself off from the world and his family for the last 10 weeks in Las Vegas, doing double sessions every day with trainers Sugar Hill Steward and Andy Lee.

Wilder goes home to his wife and kids every night, but Fury says his sacrifice will be worth it when he dethrones the WBC heavyweight king at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on February 22.

“I put myself through this because I want to give myself the best chance of success,” he said.

“Deontay Wilder is training at home with his family, sleeping at night with his wife and kids. He's living at home in his lovely place, looking over a lake.

“I’ve taken myself away to a hole in the desert and endured 10 weeks away from my family.

“He’s at home in daddy mode talking to his kids every day and being all nicey, nice with his wife.

"I haven’t. I’ve put myself through hell and back, but it’s going to pay off on the night.”

Fury, 31, continues to battle depression and says he hates Sundays because he is not in the gym.

“Every Sunday is a disaster,” said the unbeaten traveller.

“But I know Monday is around the corner. I hate Sundays because it’s the one day I get off.

“I became a workaholic, a gym junkie, but I take Sundays off now. It’s a slow, long day for me because I like to keep busy.”
