Tyson Fury in Zhilei Zhang’s sights if ‘Big Bang’ overcomes Joe Joyce again

Zhilei Zhang is targeting Tyson Fury should he overcome Joe Joyce once more.

‘Big Bang’ defeated the ‘The Juggernaut’ at the Copper Box Arena in London back in April by way of technical knockout.

It was the first loss of Joyce’s professional career and saw him vanquish the WBO interim heavyweight title.

The 36-year-old suffered an eye injury but has now recovered as the two prepare to meet again.

A rematch at the same venue will take place on September 23, with Zhang eyeing his next opponent.

Reports had suggested the 40-year-old would meet WBC and Ring magazine heavyweight champion Fury after initially beating Joyce.

Still, while that potential meeting has been delayed, Zhang says he wants a shot at Fury should he inflict another defeat upon Joyce.

“After Joyce, fighting with Tyson Fury would be my next target,” he told CGTN Europe.

“Last time I made history, the best inheritance of history is to create new history. Creating a new history of the Chinese in the field of boxing is my mission and my original intention.

“People always think Chinese boxing can’t produce heavyweight boxers, and Chinese boxing can’t compete with European and American boxing. I don’t agree. I believe Chinese boxing will definitely occupy the most central position on the international stage.”

Rematch, who recreate iconic sporting moments through immersive theatrical events, has announced its entrance into Web3, taking fan engagement to new levels through the creation of a Muhammad Ali VR experience, to create LockerRoom, a behind-the-scenes interactive VR experience using archive imagery and audio to allow users to re-imagine memories from the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ locker rooms, moments before the fight begins.

The experience comes ahead of the Rumble In The Jungle immersive live shows, commencing September 14th at Dock X London, where fans will be transported to Zaire 1974, to witness Ali’s legendary knockout win over Foreman.
