Tyson Fury given brutal warning by Deontay Wilder trainer ahead of trilogy fight

Tyson Fury has been warned Deontay Wilder wants to ‘dismantle him’ in their much-anticipated trilogy fight.

The warning comes from Wilder’s new trainer Malik Scott ahead of the October 9 bout at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Fury has the upper hand over Wilder, having dominated the American in their previous fight over 18 months ago in February 2020.

But Scott is confident it will be a different story next month now that he is overseeing Wilder’s preparation to take on the two-time world heavyweight champion.

Scott said: “Well for one because I'm training him now. For two I've never seen him this hungry before, I've never seen him this receptive for the craft.

“And I've never seen him want to dismantle another man so bad.”

Fury’s was set to finally face Anthony Joshua in what would have been the biggest bout in British boxing history but a legal claim from Wilder put paid to that and secured a third meeting with the Gypsy King.

The fight was scheduled for July but had to be postponed after Fury tested positive for Covid-19 before being re-arranged for October.

Scott, who was named as Wilder’s new trainer earlier this year, claims that Fury had been stalling over the fight.

Asked about whether he was worried about overtraining Wilder, Scott said: “Not at all. My only concern is that we are in this scenario with an admitted headcase. My only concern is Fury not showing up.”
