Tyson Fury says he will fight heavyweight rival Oleksandr Usyk for a third time next year, ending his latest retirement from boxing.
Fury has taken to social media to claim that he will contest a trilogy bout against Usyk on April 18, 2026 at Wembley Stadium, directing fans to contact his management for tickets.
The announcement appears to signal Fury’s latest comeback from retirement after stepping away from boxing following two defeats by Usyk in Riyadh in 2024.
In their initial meeting at the Kingdom Arena last May, Usyk edged out Fury by split decision, earning the distinction as the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the world since Lennox Lewis in 2000.
The two faced off again at the same venue on December 21, when Usyk reinforced his supremacy with a unanimous decision win, further cementing his dominance in the division.
Usyk defends his unified WBA, WBC, WBO, IBO and The Ring titles in a rematch against IBF champion Daniel Dubois on July 19 at Wembley, looking to become an undisputed champion for the third time in his illustrious career having previously vacated the IBF belt ahead of his second clash with Fury.
A defeat for Usyk against Dubois could hinder the prospect of a trilogy fight against Fury, whom Turki Alalshikh said on Wednesday would come out of retirement in 2026.
“I talked with him, and I have his word to have him in Riyadh Season in 2026. We have a rabbit to hunt,” said the boxing powerbroker.
Fury, meanwhile, said he could finally face British rival Anthony Joshua in a lucrative showdown if he decided to come out of retirement and a third bout with Usyk does not materialise.
