Tyson Fury breaks silence on WBC decision to order Dillian Whyte title fight

Tyson Fury's boxing future became much clearer this week after his next opponent was confirmed.

The World Boxing Council officially ordered The Gypsy King to face mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte, defending his world heavyweight championship belts.

The two camps will now go into the free negotiations period giving them 30 days to agree a deal or purse bids will be called.

It was widely expected that a bout between the two Brits would be ordered last month but complications delayed the announcement.

Whyte was forced to pull out of a bout against Otto Wallin on October 30th with a shoulder injury and was keen to forego a reschedule in hopes of fighting Fury.

Now, Fury has given his first reaction after being ordered to fight the Body Snatcher.

Speaking to Behind The Gloves, Fury said: "How many days has he been my mandatory? One! So welcome to the big GK [Gypsy King] world.

"I've known Dillian a long time, we go back a long way and he's improved a lot over the last few years.

"But the outcome will always be the same, I'll knock him out if that fight happens."

Whyte had been pushing for Fury to be named as his next opponent but ongoing arbitration between Whyte and the WBC, which ironically stems from the delay in giving the British fighter his heavyweight title shot, meant the governing body elected not to order the fight in November.

But that all changed this week with the fight expected to take place in the UK in February or March next year.
