Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder set for rematch but fans will have to be patient

Tyson Fury's rematch with Deontay Wilder looks set to be put back until 2020.

Fury was due to fight the heavyweight world champion in May but the deal collapsed when the Brit signed with US boxing promoter Top Rank.

That put him in direct conflict with Wilder as the rivals' fights will now be screened by different broadcasters.

Instead of Wilder, Fury will take on the unheralded Tom Schwarz in Las Vegas on June 15.

And his American promoter Bob Arum has revealed fans will have to wait even longer to see Fury take on Wilder again - with a fight Anthony Joshua looking increasingly unlikely.

"Assuming he (Fury) wins this fight, he’ll have another appearance in the United States. Then hopefully next year in February he’ll end up fighting Wilder," he told World Boxing News.

"Their idea is to have Wilder fight twice on their platform and then to get together a do a PPV fight. ESPN is just a distributor.

"It may well be that Wilder also has a network involved. They may want to share the distribution in some way with ESPN and that is something we’ve done before."
