Tyson Fury admits next opponent 'doesn't make sense' after Dillian Whyte decision

Tyson Fury has been left confused by his current situation of being left without an opponent despite Dillian Whyte being the obvious challenger.

Fury is considering his options having been left without a scheduled bout when the World Boxing Council decided against ordering a mandatory clash against Whyte.

Whyte is involved in an ongoing legal battle with the WBC and the governing body will not order a clash with Fury until it is resolved.

That could prove a lengthy process and Fury - who wants to return to the ring by March at the latest - may be forced to look elsewhere for a challenger.

"I'm just chilling, enjoying life, taking one day at a time, and enjoying myself," the Gypsy King told Sky Sports.

"I'm not really interested, because to be honest it doesn't really make much sense who I want to fight at this moment. It's who's available and what makes sense later on."

Fury retained his world heavyweight crown against Deontay Wilder in October, securing a knockout victory in his trilogy fight with the American.

Whyte, the long-standing WBC No. 1 contender, had been scheduled to face Otto Wallin a few weeks later but had to pull out of the fight due to injury.

Fury has long been tipped to face Anthony Joshua but the prospects of the fight taking place took a blow when Joshua was defeated by Oleksandr Usyk in September.

Joshua activated his rematch clause and will fight Ukrainian Usyk again early next year.
