Tyrone restaurants recognised at Irish restaurant awards

Hospitality businesses across Co Tyrone were recognised at the Irish restaurant awards on Tuesday night, with Moy eatery Chapter V taking home the gong for the top spot to eat in the county.

The awards took place in the Slieve Russell Hotel this week for the 13th time, with 15 different categories of awards being announced.

Chapter V, run by husband and wife duo Conor and Ellen McCabrey, first opened its doors in 2015 and has proved a popular spot with diners in the area ever since.

Another big winner on the night was Co Tyrone chef James Devine, who picked up the Best Chef award for his time at No 47 Cookstown . The new restaurant opened up last year and also picked up the Best Newcomer and Best Emerging restaurant in Tyrone.

James has had planning permission granted for a new restaurant in Dungannon, so it appears there will me more to come from the exciting Dungannon chef in the months ahead.

The different winners will move on to an All Ireland stage where selected judges from the regional panels join together to form the National Academy.
