Tyrone McKenna fight OFF after opponent withdraws

Tyrone McKenna's fight with Zhankosh Turarov is OFF.

It was announced on Saturday morning that Turarov had been forced to pull out of the WBO Inter-continental super-lightweight clash in Dubai.

The bout was due to be on the undercard of Carl Frampton's world title fight with Jamel Herring.

D4G Boxing Promotions confirmed the news on their social media.

"Unfortunately, @zhankoshturarov has been forced to withdraw from this evening's fight with Tyrone McKenna," they said on Twitter.

"The bout will be rescheduled as soon as possible."

McKenna said he was "gutted" at the eleventh hour cancellation.

Soeaking on his Instagram account, the Belfast boxer said: "Gutted with the news my fight has been called off. Trained my b**** off and spent 11 weeks away from kids.

"Diet like f*** to get to 63.5kg and spent a fortune in camp. All for nothing."
