Tyrone keeper Niall Morgan reckons splitting Dublin is 'ridiculous' idea

Tyrone star Niall Morgan reckons splitting Dublin is ‘ridiculous’ and says the capital county’s critics are having a laugh.

The experienced keeper faced Dublin in the 2018 All-Ireland final and says the six-in-a-row champions just do the simple things right, all the time.

Morgan told The Sideline View podcast: "I think what people sort of forget, and all this talk about Dublin at the minute of how it's unfair and split Dublin in two, I actually just laugh it off and think how ridiculous some people are whenever they talk about that.

"Dublin have 15 players on the pitch at each time that just do the basics right. They don't have a player that kicks points from 50 metres, they don't have a player that kicks an outside of the boot pass from 60 metres into space, they don't have anybody that does anything over and beyond what they need to do.

"They just do the basics right all the time. It's a team game. Not one of them goes seeking credit over the other. I think that's what people forget."

Morgan says it's no surprise that there's never any leaks from the Dublin dressing room or talk of disharmony.

He said: "You never hear about anything coming out of the camp. Within Tyrone you're always hearing rumours, 'Did such and such leave the panel?' or 'Did such and such have a row in training?' And you're going, 'No, it didn't happen' but there's probably a bit of truth somewhere in the rumour, not the entire rumour, but you never hear of that coming out of Dublin at all.

"I suppose that's part of the reason why they're so successful."
