Tyrone and Dublin clash sees tunnel brawl break out at half-time in Healy Park

A brawl broke out in the tunnel at half-time in the Division 1 clash between Tyrone and Dublin in Omagh.

After a first half in extremely tough weather conditions that was played in good spirits, it was somewhat of a surprise to see a scuffle break out as the teams headed to the dressing room.

Tyrone's Padraig Hampsey did receive a black card as the second half started, with Tyrone confirming on Twitter that he 'received a black card as both teams went down the tunnel for half-time'.

It is not clear whether the brawl involved backroom staff members as well as players.

RTE pundit Colm O'Rourke said: "That's not just handbags. There is a lot of really serious punches being thrown in there in that thing and I'd say there's going to be fellows having sore jaws tomorrow.

"Dublin and Tyrone, Tomas said it before the game, they don't like each other very much. But that is really serious stuff."

Fellow pundit Tomas O'Se labelled the incident 'disgraceful ' and 'wrong'. While O'Rourke added, 'that's Tyson Fury stuff'.

Tyrone ran out winners on the night, inflicting the first defeat of the league season on the All-Ireland champions by 1-10 to 1-7.

Rory Brennan's late goal was decisive as Mickey Harte's men secured a battling win.

Irish pro boxer Eric Donovan tweeted: "A few left and rights thrown there at the half time Tyrone v Dublin, there's no love lost between these two rivals. No need for it though is there really? #AllianzLeagues."
