Tyrone All-Ireland winner Mickey Coleman released from hospital

Double Tyrone All-Ireland winner Mickey Coleman has been released from hospital following a suspected heart attack.

The Ardboe native, 41, who won All-Ireland medals under Mickey Harte in 2003 and 2005, was taken to hospital in New York late last month.

He was released on Friday and has returned home to his family.

New York Club Tyrone shared the positive news on Facebook, saying: "Some good news to cheer up your Friday evening. Mickey is on his way back home. Time now to give him some quality time as he continues on the journey to full recovery. All the best Mickey."

Rockland GAA added: "Great news to see heading into the weekend - Mickey Coleman is heading home! Wishing you a full and speedy recovery!"

Coleman, a father of two and husband to wife Erin, is also a well-known musician and wrote a song called The Brantry Boy in memory of his former teammate Cormac McAnallen. He is involved in the Club Tyrone in New York and has been coaching GAA.

A number of people sent well wishes to Coleman on social media.

SDLP MLA Patsy McGlone said: "Best wishes for a full recovery Mickey."

Another comment read: "Walking out of the hospital and heading home to your beautiful family! I love it!!! Healing thoughts and prayers to Mickey and family!"

Someone else commented: "Thank goodness! Continued prayers for a full recovery, Mickey! Get some rest and enjoy your time at home with your family."

"So happy to hear this. Getting home to your beautiful family. Speedy recovery to you Mickey," read another post.
