Tyron Woodley hit with lengthy medical suspension after brutal Jake Paul KO

Tyron Woodley has been hit with a 60-day medical suspension by the Florida State Athletic Commission after being viciously knocked out by Jake Paul.

The former UFC welterweight champion was down on all three judges' scorecards when Paul landed a brutal right hand that stopped the fight in the sixth round.

Woodley took a brief while to regain consciousness, and participated as normal in the post-fight press conference for the bout after suffering his sixth straight defeat.

He had taken the rematch with Paul on short notice after Tommy Fury pulled out of the originally planned pay-per-view main event due to injury, having taken the YouTuber to a split decision in their last fight.

But Paul left no doubt this time around, as he brutalised Woodley with two rounds to go and landed the fourth knockout of his 5-0 professional career.

And the Florida Athletic Commission have confirmed to Mirror Fighting that Woodley was hit with a two-month medical suspension due to being finished in the fight.

"Tyron Woodley was issued a mandatory 60-day suspension as a result of his knockout," a statement read. "No other suspensions are in place."

It has been reported by MMA Junkie that Miriam Gutierrez, who fought Amanda Serrano in the co-main event and was left disfigured by the ten-round fight, has also been hit with an indefinite suspension.

Paul and Woodley embraced after the bout, and the YouTube star has already got to work in organising his former rival's next bout for an upcoming event.

American Football star Le'Veon Bell called Paul out for a fight after watching him stop Woodley, declaring that he should no longer fight people who "can't box".

And Paul replied by offering Bell a chance to back up his fighting credentials by taking on former UFC champion Woodley on the next event he promotes.

"Aye Tyron, this clown saying you can’t box," Paul tweeted. "How about you show him as part of the next MVP event?

"Tyron would drop you faster than the Ravens."

Bell clapped back telling Paul not to "run from the work", before Woodley responded that Bell shouldn't get his words "f***ed up".

"'Cause I made one mistake you think it's sweet?" Woodley asked Bell in an angry tweet. "Don't get it f***ed up homeboy."

Woodley has said that Bell is "coat-tailing", but the former NFL player has said that he would gladly fight Woodley for a purse which he would donate the entirety of to charity.

"So you coat tailing," Woodley responded after Bell claimed he made multiple mistakes. "I get it.

"See a person courageous enough to go into battle, and use that to try to throw your name in there for a bag. Without making that walk.

"That's defined as clout chasing. Surprising from you."

"Any revenue I would make for the fight I would donate to charity," Bell responded. "Every single dollar!

"Since people who can’t box like you think I’m in it for money - lol it’s not about money, it’s about me doing what you couldn’t do.

"I don’t need to pocket a dime, I already got 'a bag'."

It remains to be seen when Paul will fight again, but his next event will be as a promoter in April when Serrano faces Katie Taylor for the undisputed lightweight title in New York.
