Tyrell Fortune has his opponent for next month’s Bellator 233 event.
Fortune (7-0 MMA, 7-0 BMMA), the undefeated heavyweight prospect, will meet Azunna Anyanwu (15-5 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) on the main card of the event, MMA Junkie today confirmed with a Bellator official.
Bellator 233 takes place Nov. 8 at WinStar World Casino & Resort in Thackerville, Okla. The main card airs on Paramount following prelims on MMA Junkie.
Fortune, who has competed in all of his career fights under the Bellator banner, was originally linked to a matchup with Tim Johnson for the event. The fight was not finalized, though, and instead the promotion matched him up with Anyanwu.
Anyanwu, a veteran of UFC and Dana White’s Contender Series, will return to Bellator for the first time in more then eight years. He fought once for the promotion in September 2011, scoring a second-round TKO at Bellator 49.
In other Bellator 233 news, Christian Edwards (1-0 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) will not fight replacement opponent Cesar Bennett (0-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) on the preliminary card.
