Tyreik Wright 'watched' by Celtic as Irish winger adds Hoops to Premier League admirers

Celtic are watching Aston Villa's Irish under-19 international wonderkid Tyreik Wright, according to a report.

The Daily Mail claim the 19-year-old winger is wanted by several clubs with Premier League side Everton also prominently in the mix.

His current deal finishes at the end of the season and that means is be available for a nominal fee via the infamous cross-border loophole the Hoops used to secure Moussa Dembele.

It means that Celtic would only have to pay a training compensation fee rather than the much larger amount that an English club would have to stump up.

Wright is currently on loan at League Two outfit Walsall and has made a rapid impact since arriving in January with two assists in as many games.

Saddlers boss Darrel Clarke said: "Tyreik's got great ability.

"He's been showing his match winning qualities in the Under-23's at Villa and for his country at youth level.

"We've got a great relationship with Villa and we're very grateful to them for letting us have one of their exciting youngsters.

"He has that match winning quality, energy, pace, and he created the goal at Port Vale [his debut] with one bit of magic.

"As long as he’s doing the other side of the job he’ll have a good future."
