Tyreek Hill reacts to Jalen Ramsey trade request by breaking NFL’s tampering rules

Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey formally requested a trade on Monday following a sideline altercation with head coach Doug Marrone. And understandably, that news drew plenty of reaction from across the NFL.

Teams have reportedly already reached out and made offers for the star cornerback, and the Kansas City Chiefs, specifically, would be an excellent fit for Ramsey.

Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill knows that, but he probably should have kept that excitement to himself.

Come Tuesday morning, Hill took to Twitter and publicly tweeted “let’s go” at the Jaguars cornerback.

Yeah, that’s a pretty clear violation of the NFL’s anti-tampering policy.

Even though Ramsey requested a trade from the Jaguars, he’s still a member of the team. That means that players on other teams can’t reach out to him, especially in the way that Hill just did.

Via the NFL:

“No club, nor any person employed by or otherwise affiliated with a club, is permitted to tamper with a player who is under contract to or whose exclusive negotiating rights are held by another club.”

The policy also prohibits public statements of interest for another team’s player — much like the tweet that Hill sent.

Hill is right to be excited about the prospect of having Ramsey join his team, but that tweet could prove costly.
