Tyreek Hill lands at No. 19 in NFL Network’s Top 100 list

The Kansas City Chiefs have another player making an appearance on the NFL Network Top 100 list, and it was not a matter of if, but where.

It’s the third career appearance in the Top 100 for WR Tyreek Hill, and this time he comes in at No. 19. In the past he’s been praised for his ability as a punt returner, but this time it’s all about his lethal speed and ability as a receiver.

In 2018, Hill recorded career highs in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. He was one of the most unstoppable weapons in the game of football. There’s a reason he’s nicknamed “Cheetah.” And his peers got together to tell you why in the video below:

“When you’re in the league for a while, there’s a lot of fast guys,” said 31-year-old Patriots cornerback Jason McCourty. “You get out there with Tyreek Hill and you say, ‘OK, this is a different level of fast.'”

Hill may be the fastest player in the league, but his game isn’t entirely predicated on speed anymore. Yes, he can run by you, but he can also beat you with his feet, his releases and the routes that he runs.

“Obviously the speed makes him dynamic, but when you actually focus in on what he’s doing,” Packers wide receiver Davante Adams said. “You look at his footwork and releases. It’s happening really fast, so you look at it as foot chatter. Like he’s just pattering his feet. But the man really knows what he’s doing working on his game, and he’s going to take it to the next level and you can see it.”

Some high praise from talented offensive players and defenders all around for Hill. It’s nice to see him get some credit he deserves after being referred to as a gadget player for so long.

Will Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes make his arrival on the NFL Network Top 100 list this evening? Will he come in at the No. 1 spot? Tune in tonight at 7 p.m. CT to see Nos. 6-10.
