The offseason Super Bowl celebration tour is winding for the Kansas City Chiefs as training camp is set to open this weekend. The champions are readying for their opportunity to secure consecutive Super Bowl victories. Two of their star players are already planning future Super Bowl titles beyond just the 2020 season.
Tyreek Hill is the latest Chiefs star to express his confidence in winning multiple titles. Hill backed up teammate Chris Jones’ belief that the team will win multiple rings in the coming years. The All-Pro receiver was a guest on ESPN’s “First Take” Thursday morning as he discussed hopes of winning several Super Bowl titles in Kansas City.
“Well, I’m not gonna say he’s telling a fib, But Chris Jones, he’s definitely —he’s definitely a man of his word,” said Hill. ”We’re definitely creating something special here in KC, so I don’t see why not. Why say five? Why not go seven rings? Right now, we’re just chasing (Michael) Jordan, so that’s what we do. So I’m going over five, and I’m saying seven.”
The Hall of Fame basketball legend Michael Jordan has been a hot topic this past Spring during the release of his documentary “The Last Dance.” The influence he had on his Chicago Bulls teams earned the star six titles is proving to be a catalyst in the dominant mindset of Hill and Jones in regards to the Chiefs. Jones recently signed a contract extension to remain in Kansas City is looking forward to more parades as he boasted about with KCSP 610 Sports Radio earlier in the week.
“We plan to have another parade and another parade and another parade,” said Jones, ”We’re going to make sure we bring not one, not two, not three, not four, but five-plus rings to Kansas City. It’s been 50 years of waiting, but the wait is over now. It’s time to create a dynasty.”
The Chiefs return to work earlier than most teams this year in preparation for their opening night matchup with the Houston Texans while celebrating last season’s title.
