Tyre price comparison site outlines expansion plans following usage surge

An online tyre price comparison and booking platform has announced plans to double its staff as part of a UK expansion.

TyreRunner last year benefitted from increased online sales during the pandemic - reporting an 800% year-on-year rise in site visits.

The Edinburgh-headquartered company is looking for more staff across software engineering, marketing and customer service, "in order to make sure drivers have a same day tyre buying experience that is backed by customer service levels expected of an internet company in 2021”.

Launched in 2019 by former Kwik-Fit and Ominfone software engineer turned serial company founder Bryan MacMillan, the site is supported by a board of tyre industry veterans.

MacMillan said: “Tyres are an industry filled with jargon and it’s often difficult and time consuming for drivers to check all compatible options that are available to them, online and offline, at a time and place convenient to them whether it’s in a branch, or by a mobile fitting vehicle in their driveway.

“Our aim is to expand our same-day booking facility so that every town in the UK has a same-day mobile or in centre fitting option available to them within a five mile radius.”
