Tyrann Mathieu Foundation to host COVID-19 relief radiothon

Kansas City Chiefs defensive back Tyrann Mathieu has a big event coming up that will help give back to those experiencing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Tyrann Mathieu Foundation is set to host a COVID-19 relief radiothon taking place on 610 Sports radio on Thursday, May 7. The event is scheduled to last over 12 hours and seems to be filled with special guests and surprises. Here are all of the important details from the foundation website:

“Please join us [virtually!] on Thursday, May 7th to raise money for COVID-19 relief in Kansas City. Proceeds from the event will benefit children and families who are experiencing hardships from the pandemic and will feature twelve [or more!] of your favorite KC athletes and celebrities! For real-time updates, follow @TyrannMathieuFDN on Instagram and be sure to check back here for more event announcements and updates!

The event will broadcast live in Kansas City on 610 Sports Radio and you can listen from anywhere at 610sports.radio.com or on the radio.com app! We’ll be live from 6:00AM to 6:30PM with our special guests and exclusive prizes and raffles for our supporters, so don’t miss it!

If you’re interested in sponsoring the Radiothon or donating an item for the silent auction, please email emilyh@capturesportsmarketing.com. If you would prefer to donate by phone or check, please call 980-218-9763!”

Attached to the radiothon is a silent auction, which you can participate in now. You can place bids on different items including but not limited to a zoom call with Tyrann Mathieu, batting practice with the Kansas City Royals, and autographed items from some of your favorite Kansas City sports icons.

The funds raised from the radiothon will benefit BMA Foundation, reStart and Hope House.

An incredible group of special guests will participate in the radiothon including Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, KU Football head coach Les Miles, Sporting Kansas City head coach Peter Vermes, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas and many more. You can find a more complete list below:

The radiothon is sponsored in part by the Kansas City Chiefs, Victory Auto Group and CommunityAmerica Credit Union.

Be sure to tune in tomorrow and show your support for Mathieu’s foundation. It’ll be a great way to pass the time as fans wait for the NFL schedule reveal.
