'Typical Palace' Fans react as Burnley goalkeeper scores dramatic equaliser to deny young Eagles

There was late drama in the Premier League Cup this afternoon (Thursday) as Burnley goalkeeper Adam Legzdins scored in injury time to deny Crystal Palace victory.

Crystal Palace's U23 side looked to be heading for victory at the Barnfield training centre after scoring twice in the first half, with Brandon Aveiro on target for the visitors.

But Burnley fought back in the second half, with Ali Koiki reducing the deficit midway through the second half with his ninth goal of the season.

Burnley continued to push as they went in search of an equaliser, but Palace looked to have done enough to hold on, with the game heading into injury time.

However, there was to be a late dramatic twist as Burnley goalkeeper Adam Legzdins came up for a corner in the 95th minute, with the former Derby County man heading home into the bottom corner to deny Palace victory, and continue the Clarets' unbeaten start to the season at U23 level.

Legzdins succeeded where Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster just failed on Saturday, with the Hornets' custodian denied by a save from Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga in the dying moments of the game at Vicarage Road as the Blues held on for a 2-1 win.

But Legzdins' dramatic late goal has got fans talking this afternoon, with Burnley supporters understandably delighted, while Palace fans have been reacting with dismay at seeing their side concede such a goal.

Here's what they have been saying on social media.

This was Palace's second game in the Premier League Cup this season, having lost 3-1 at home against Blackburn Rovers in their first match.
