At least 30 people have been killed and 175 injured after Typhoon Hagibis caused massive flooding in Japan.
Government rescue teams have dispatched helicopters and boats to reach people stranded in flooded homes, part of a major rescue effort in wide areas of the country.
Rescue crews are also digging through dirt to try to get people out from homes buried by landslides.
The huge storm has devastated low-lying land in central and eastern Japan and cut power to almost half a million homes.
