Activist group Extinction Rebellion are to stage a 'slow cycle' protest across the Tyne Bridge during rush hour.
Heavy congestion and delays are expected in the area heading into the city centre on Friday.
The group will be carrying out their slow cycle around Gateshead and Newcastle before they protest at the offices of Banks Group near Durham to "oppose the destruction caused by the opencast coal projects of Banks Mining".
