A Newcastle brewery has come up with a perfect match of beer and entertainment to tempt customers this summer.
Tyne Bank Brewery in Byker will be screening Wimbledon action this July alongside an inspired menu including Strawberries & Cream ale and a winner of a tasting platter.
The brewery and tap room in the city 's Walker Road is this time out to recreate the atmosphere of the famous tennis tournament and is inviting people to take along a picnic if they prefer.
Its Wimbledon-theme events will take place from July 11-14 when it will be showing the main semi-final and the final matches of the championship.
Entry will be free and, besides the Strawberries & Cream beer on offer, there will be other summery-sounding beer options from among its core range, including Rhubarb and Custard and Summer Breeze as well as a Silver Dollar.
And the brewery's 'Wimbledon-inspired' sharing board platters will feature the likes of nachos or meat and cheese at a cost of £5.
While match schedules might vary according to London's weather conditions, the signs are good and even if the worst happens there is set to be plenty atmosphere to soak up.
Former events at the brewery have included dog social s, baby socials, brew and bake workshops as well as markets and live music nights.
It also hour-long brewery tours on Saturday which start at 2.30pm and include an opportunity to sample four beers. See here .
