Tyne Bank Brewery to host two-day 'Flower Power' vegan beer and food festival

Tyne Bank Brewery will hold a two-day vegan food and beer festival later this month.

Flower Power vegan festival will see the Walker Road brewery and taphouse host stalls selling vegan food from some of the North East's best street food vendors, as well as beer, cocktails and music.

So far, Fat Hippo (burgers) Grumpy Panda (vegan fast food), Dosa Kitchen (South Indian) and bao bun experts Kogarashi have signed up to serve at the festival, to be held on the evening of Friday January 17 and all day on Saturday January 18 at Tyne Bank Brewery, in Walker Road , Newcastle .

The festival is organised by 44 Events, the same team which arranges the food battles at Wylam Brewery. Visitors to Tyne Bank's Flower Power will be able to try out the vegan street for for £3 per portion, which allows customers to sample from multiple vendors.

44 Events say: "We’ve always championed the vegan offering at our food battles, however with the opportunity to work with the intimate but mighty Tyne Bank, we felt confident in being a little more experimental with our street food concepts.

"So given that it’s Veganuary and the current wave of intrigue towards the vegan diet, we thought we’d flex our muscles and present it all in a bow… with beer… cocktails… and music.

"We’ll be presenting four game changer all out vegan street food vendors, lots of lovely beers (obviously), a soundtrack that we’ve kind of got a big reputation for, and all that under one roof with everyone invited."

Entry will be free, with families, kids and dogs welcome.
