Tyne and Wear Metro train cancelled due to driver shortage

Rail operator Tyne and Wear Metro has advised train passengers that one service has had to be cancelled on Friday afternoon August 6.

The network has been impacted by driver availability over the last fortnight after Covid 19 isolations.

The following scheduled services will be impacted:

4pm Regent Centre – Pelaw

4.33pm Pelaw – Monkseaton

5.19pm Monkseaton – Pelaw

6.03pm Pelaw – South Gosforth

A spokesman for Tyne and Wear Metro said: "On Friday, 6th August, we have one cancelled afternoon peak service.

"This train has been cancelled due to driver availability. We apologise for the inconvenience caused."
