Tyler Walker has left Nottingham Forest to join Coventry City in a permanent deal.
The clubs announced the transfer on Friday afternoon, Walker signing a three-year contract with the Sky Blues after an undisclosed fee was agreed.
Walker, who had one year left on his deal at the City Ground, leaves Forest after coming through the ranks with the club, finishing with 45 appearances and seven goals in Garibaldi Red.
He found the net regularly on loan at Lincoln in League One last season and was promptly recalled for the second half of the Championship campaign, but he only made one start and six substitute appearances under Sabri Lamouchi as the Reds missed out on the play-offs.
After announcing the transfer, Forest said: “The club would like to thank Tyler for his commitment and dedication to the club throughout his time in the academy and with the first-team and everyone at Nottingham Forest wishes him the best of luck with this new chapter of his career.”
The 23-year-old had been linked with a host of clubs this summer, so Coventry boss Mark Robins was delighted to bring in Walker to strengthen his forward options as the Sky Blues aim to avoid an immediate return to League One.
Robins said: “We’re delighted to announce the signing of Tyler.
“He is a terrific talent, who we have been interested in for the last couple of years.
“As his goalscoring record shows, he’s a striker with great ability who really tests and stretches defences and is a fantastic signing for the club.
“We’re really pleased to get this significant transfer completed, and are looking forward to working with him.”
Walker could get a chance to play against his boyhood club when Forest host Coventry on November 4.
