Tyler Walker hoping to test himself against Everton as Lincoln City play in front of Sky Sports cameras

Tyler Walker will be hoping to test himself against Premier League opposition when Lincoln City face Everton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

The Nottingham Forest striker has scored twice in six games for the Imps during his season-long loan spell and he set up their goal in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Doncaster Rovers.

Walker, 22, will now hope to feature against an Everton team who will make changes, but only have three senior central defenders in their squad, meaning he could be up against England defender Michael Keane or former Barcelona man Yerry Mina.

With the last few home tickets going on sale on Monday and Everton selling out their allocation of around 1,800, the second round tie at Sincil Bank, which is live on Sky Sports, is set to be a complete sell-out.

“It will be great to play in front of a packed out Sincil Bank,” said Lincoln manager Danny Cowley.

“It’s great for the players to be able to pit their wits against world-class players and it’s great for us to do the same against their vastly experienced management team.

“And it’ll be a brilliant spectacle for the people of Lincoln and hopefully a great way for them to finish their summer.

“They’ve got an extremely strong squad. We’ve been looking at it and trying to gage how many changes they would be able to make.

“I think the fixtures have been a bit kinder to them. They played on Friday [losing 2-0 at Aston Villa], then Wednesday and then not again until Sunday [when they host Wolves], while we’re Saturday-Wednesday-Saturday.

“We’re delighted that Sky Sports have chosen to cover this game. The finances it will be bring could make a significant difference to us. It’s come at a really good time.

“But the league will still be our main focus so we’re going to have to navigate the game as best we can.”

Elsewhere, Forest's Luke Steele looks likely to be in goal for Millwall in their tie at Oxford United on Tuesday night.
