Tyler, the Creator has been exceedingly busy. Not only has he launched an app that promises “basically my brain, in one place”, he’s also announced a new album for surprise release on Monday.
Cherry Bomb has been made available for preorder on iTunes, and two new songs have already been posted to Soundcloud. Lil Wayne and Kanye West reportedly appear on the album. Tyler tweeted that he wanted it to go to No 1.

The Odd Future linchpin also tweeted that the album involved collaborations with Chaz Bundick (aka Toro y Moi), Cole Alexander of the Black Lips, and the veteran R&B singer Charlie Wilson, with whom he was pictured in the studio in 2013. Wilson has worked extensively with West, appearing on the albums Yeezus, Watch the Throne, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Late Registration. It’s possible that he was the link between Tyler and West.
Tyler’s new app, Golf Media, is already available for download. The first two months of programming are free, after which it will cost $4.99 a month. Tyler’s manager, Christian Clancy, told The Fader: “It’s a bunch of different things that are original, curated and constantly changing. Original series, content, live streaming, radio, tour stuff, golf wang, interactive and whatever other buzzwords that sound mildly annoying and marketing-like.”
