Tyler Lockett defends DK Metcalf, Seahawks teammates from Twitter sidelines

The Seahawks are getting whooped again, this time in frigid Kansas City at the hands of the Chiefs. At this rate, the most-interesting action of the day might be taking place online rather than on the field.

Wide receiver Tyler Lockett was ruled out for today’s game for just the second time in his career. He’s still showing up to support his teammates, though. Lockett replied to a fan who insulted DK Metcalf over his penalty that killed Seattle’s first drive of the game. Lockett told the fan to calm down.

Metcalf does have a lot of flags this season (that was his seventh accepted penalty) but he obviously brings a whole lot more value. We feel the same way about Metcalf’s penalties as we might about Lamar Jackson’s fumbles if we were Ravens fans – you take the bad with the good.

The Chiefs lead 7-0 late in the first quarter.
