Tyler Higbee ruled out of second half with chest injury

Rams tight end Tyler Higbee has been ruled out of the second half of the Rams’ matchup with the Saints. The team has ruled out their starting tight end due to a chest injury.

Higbee exits the game after recording two receptions for 21 yards in the first half. It’s unclear when the injury happened, as Higbee never went to the locker room prior to halftime.

Expect to see a heavy dose of Gerald Everett with Higbee out for the remainder of the game. The two tight ends had been splitting snaps prior to the injury, so the Rams should be able to keep things afloat with Everett in Higbee’s place.

Higbee is the third Ram to exit the team’s Week 2 contest, after Aaron Donald and Austin Blythe were sent to the locker room in the second quarter. Donald returned to the field rather quickly, while Blythe remains questionable to return.

The Rams currently lead the Saints 6-3 early in the third quarter.
