Tyler Eifert fights back against injury-prone label

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert knows he has to be an open book about his injury history as he once again heads for free agency.

This time Eifert is on the mend from an ankle injury — and the latest workout videos he showed look great.

He went on SiriusXM NFL Radio to talk about his status and described the injuries as freak accidents, nothing more.

“Obviously it’s something I have to deal with and something I have to answer to because it is a part of my history. It’s tough, though, because there’s nothing I could do to prevent what is happening. Pretty freak injuries.”

Regardless of the classification, Eifert has had a hard time staying on the field over the course of his career. This latest injury was at least better than the recurring back injuries of his past, if there is silver lining to be had.

Once again, the Bengals will have a tough decision to make on Eifert this offseason, one made more interesting by the fact a new coaching staff now leads the team.
