Tyler Duncan hits his wife in the head with errant shot at Byron Nelson

Tyler Duncan has had a strong week on the PGA Tour.

He was tied for second through two rounds of the AT&T Byron Nelson and was in third place, three shots behind leader Matt Every before the rain-delayed third round was suspended because of darkness Saturday night.

He finished his third round with a 70 and is T5 entering Sunday’s final round at Trinity Forest.

But Duncan’s second round wasn’t error free. He hit his wife Maria in the head with one of his shots.

“I had a little bit mud on the ball on the left side,” he said of his approach to the green on the par-4 13th hole. “I didn’t really think it would affect (it) too much.”

He sent his shot far right.

His wife wasn’t injured.
