Tyler Chatwood walks six as Indians rout Cubs, 10-1

CHICAGO _ After pitching one of his most efficient games last week, Tyler Chatwood experienced his shortest outing Tuesday night because of recurring wildness.

Chatwood walked six in only 2 2/3 innings as the Cubs were routed by the Indians 10-1 at Wrigley Field.

Chatwood issued a leadoff walk to Francisco Lindor to start the third, and Jose Ramirez followed later with a three-run home run that landed in the basket in right field. Chatwood allowed a single to Yonder Alonso, who advanced on a walk to Melky Cabrera and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by Roberto Perez.

Chatwood threw only 30 of 74 pitches for strikes. His six walks were one shy of his season high set April 17 against the Cardinals.

Chatwood threw 44 of 79 pitches for strikes and walked only two in 5 1/3 innings in his previous start against the Braves.

Mike Montgomery relieved Chatwood but was tagged for six runs on six hits in 2 1/3 innings.

The Cubs were blanked for six innings by Trevor Bauer despite putting a runner in scoring position in each inning against him. Albert Almora Jr. had two of the Cubs' seven hits against Bauer.

Pinch-hitter Ian Happ ruined the Indians' shutout bid with a home run off Josh Tomlin in the ninth.
