“I missed out on all the experience playing with these guys, but it’s a blessing because I was able to get my body right. I feel like I’m five times stronger than I was probably heading into the season.”
Catalina went down with a torn labrum last season, spoiling what would have been a good chance at playing time given the wealth of injuries suffered by the offensive line.
An undrafted player in 2017, Catalina has emerged as a key contributor for the line.
As far as silver linings go, the good news is Catalina says he’s used the off time to better learn the system.
He’ll have a big chance to prove it next summer. A versatile piece, Catalina could play himself into a bigger role and allow the Redskins to use draft assets and otherwise at different positional groups.
