Cincinnati Bengals wideout Tyler Boyd thinks teams across the league are already worrying about how to stop his offense in 2021.
And he just might be right.
Boyd, now flanked by Tee Higgins, No. 5 pick Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Mixon out of the backfield, sits on one of the most explosive-looking offenses in the league.
On paper, of course.
Boyd said the following, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com: “It’s like, ‘How do you stop these guys?’ I’m pretty sure there are guys already looking across the league and figuring out what guys got and I know we’re one of the teams that guys are going to worry about.”
Now one of the oldest offensive weapons on the roster after A.J. Green’s departure, Boyd had stepped up and served as the No. 1 wideout for a few years now. As a rookie last year, Higgins did the same.
Sprinkle in a top-five talent like Chase and indeed, the Bengals look quite explosive. Much of what the offense will be able to do still hinges on whether the rebuilt line can protect Joe Burrow, but the talent at the skill positions should indeed have opposing defensive coordinators on the schedule sweating a bit.
